Sustainability

As early as 2022, we deliberately decided to collaborate with ibex fairstay. Why? Because it is important to us not only to live out our sustainability, but also to demonstrate it in a measurable and honest way. Certification from ibex fairstay helps us do this – with clear criteria for campsites that go beyond just ecological and social responsibility.

Two years after receiving our first award, it was time for the next step: our first recertification. During this process, our current sustainability management underwent a rigorous review. ✅

The five key dimensions of ibex fairstay were at the centre:

To start, we undertook an internal review: implemented measures and measurable indicators such as energy and water consumption and waste volume were systematically checked and calculated. Our purchasing of food and beverages also came under scrutiny. 🔍

This was followed by an independent audit – and the result speaks for itself: In January 2025, we were able to receive the award once again. This is a valuable confirmation of our continued commitment.

We are convinced that sustainability requires responsible leadership and creative ideas. 🏕️ We have already enhanced the quality of experience for our guests with folklore evenings, a massage bus and an Asian food truck. We have also improved our communication – both within our team and externally – becoming clearer and more personal. We listen to our guests’ feedback and implement targeted enhancements. Continuously identifying potential for improvement helps us implement innovative measures.

Our integrated We Wash systems make a valuable contribution to ecology: these shared laundry solutions lead to a reduction in energy and water consumption. Smart efficiency goes hand in hand with resource protection here.

Our sustainably designed website still produces only around 0.79 g CO2 emissions per page view – digitalisation and ecology in harmony. ♻️

Our electricity comes almost entirely from Swiss hydropower – clean, renewable, and in harmony with nature. 🔋

By maintaining our 'Life Towers' we are consciously creating a home with heart for increased species diversity and biodiversity – a gigantic insect hotel. 🐞

Regionality and Indulgence – Hand in Hand.

We are proud of our long-lasting partnerships with local suppliers who rely on the highest quality Swiss raw materials. This allows us to sustainably strengthen the region together: local products and short supply chains.

We aren’t resting on our laurels – even though we’re proud of what we’ve achieved.

Our oil heating system remains a challenge: once considered reliable, it is no longer up to date. We see great potential here for climate-friendly alternatives. Our successful recertification is an important milestone on this journey.

We aim to continue operating sustainably, strengthening regional partnerships and living social responsibility – day by day. Our commitment shows: we remain dedicated to promoting more sustainable tourism in Switzerland. With you. For you. 💚
